Hi Thomas,

Am in the process of installing the dependencies for PhylOTU - does the MOTHUR version matter - 64 bit with or without readline are available for each platform? At the moment I've gone with the version that includes the readline.

Currently having fun compiling infernal! :)

Cheers

Mike

Hi Mike,

Apologies for the delayed turnaround - I've been stuck in a conference all
morning.

It should not matter which version of MOTHUR you install. PhylOTU's only
interaction with MOTHUR is to call it and a series of MOTHUR statements at
the command line via a wrapper script. That said, I've not tested PhylOTU
on the latest version of MOTHUR (shame on me). My best guess is that you
won't run into any problems, since PhylOTU doesn't do much with MOTHUR and
what is done is very routine.

Let me know if you run into any problems along the way or if you have any
additional questions. I'm happy to help you troubleshoot.

Best,
Tom

Hi Tom, no problem, thanks for your help - have been getting it installed on Mick Watson's server, but out of time and heading back to London, so will be switching to my Mac for the remainder. Will let you know how things go - I think CPAN and additional perl modules might be fun - not done that before, but I have Macports, so I think I'll start there. Will document process and can share that here if helpful?

Cheers

Hi Mike,

Your documentation would be very helpful! I'd love to see it if you're
willing to share.

I haven't done much PhylOTU development recently, but plan to do so in the
future now that I'm getting a few projects off my plate. If you have
suggestions for features or improvements, I'm all ears.

Best,
Tom
