Hi
For many products, for example paints, chemical admixtures, dyes, medication etc. have a certain usage or dosage rate.
For example,
Paint A costs £10 for a 1 litre tin and has a dosage rate of 1 m2 per litre. Therefore it will cost £10 to paint 1 m2.
Paint B costs £20 for a 1 litre tin and has a dosage rate of 4 m2 per litre. Therefore it will cost £5 to paint 1 m2.
Comparing only the prices the paints, Paint A looks like it is cheaper. However once the dosage rate is taken into account it is actually Paint B that is cheaper.
So when Google shows only the product price in the search results a buyer may not take the usage rate into account. The buyer may then purchase the more expensive product when they actually wanted to purchase the cheapest product.
Is there anyway of incorporating usage rate into the "offer" schema?
PriceSpecification looks like the best place that currently exists but usage is not mentioned in the description. An actual "dosage" or "usageRate" schema would be better.
Thanks.
