Strange behavior with "checking state topic"

My values are not updating properly and when looking at the logs, it looks a bit strange. Not sure if this is the way it is supposed to be.
What i find suspicious is the lines marked. It seems that it is checking two topic at The same time or what does the line with "checking state topic" mean?

I can add that restarting the app makes it update the values. I have also noticed that Homey is a bit more sluggish than before adding MQTT client. But not sure why.
