Getting the namenode ip.

cd /etc/hadoop/conf
view core-site.xml
check for fs.defaultFS

to check block size and replication
view hdfs-site.xml



Copy from local to hdfs 

Either use 
hdfs dfs -copyFromLocal <source> <destination>
or 
hdfs dfs -put <source> <destination>



Get the size of a directory in hdfs 

hdfs dfs -du -s -h /user/cloudera/orders



Get detail of files and file blocks on hdfs.

hdfs fsck /user/cloudera/orders/ -files -blocks -locations

check the yarn-site.xml file for details

cd /etc/hadoop/conf
view yarn-site.xml

search for resource manager. - yarn.resoucemanager.webapp.address
