More information in ticket #75169
"I don’t think that we need a special setting for the limitation of the data during SHIFT-DR procedure. It is absolute okay to limit the displayed data in the signal view (see the picture of the issue). But If I try the get the total information, I want to view the total data without limitation and “…” at the end. I suggest showing the total data in the table view (by the way, this is a very cool feature).

If you need a limitation value (to handle software errors or run into a fail state), of course, you can add a setting option into the JTAG settings. In our case the maximum typical values is ~20MB. And this is why I tell you about our application:

We are sending via JTAG a SVF file to an FPGA. In my case I have to compare the data auf the SVF file with my data of the signal.

In the best case we have an extension to compare an SVF file with the signal data. But for the first step it is absolute okay to have the option to get the total value of a very very very long message of SHIFT-DR (and SHIFT-IR)."
