Also, thanks @fabbondanza for the questionnaire - I have printed it and collected about a dozen of filled in forms at the end of the workshop.

I have digitised the notes to use them for further discussions:

What to teach

  • Jupyter notebooks (Python and/or R)
  • git (basic and more advanced), GitHub and GitLab
  • tools and methods for data visualisation
  • publishing reproducible research with Jupyter (Binder, Azure notebooks)

Formats

  • Carpentries-style tutorials
  • "Bring your problem" sessions
  • Hackathons
    • would be nice to have a gallery of such projects

Audience

  • PhD students and postdocs
  • University-wider (IBANS priority)
  • 25-30 learners

Speakers

  • TBC

Time

  • April-May
  • 3 half-days
  • possibly one more event (another course or hackday or bring your problem session)
  • TODO: a poll to decide which weeks
