Using built-in remix createMemorySessionStorage, a call to getSession will create a new session if not found.
As per documentation for createSessionStorage the getSession method is the only ever calling readData and the documentation proposes returning null if there is no session.
However, if you follow this steps and use memory in let's say dev and custom in production, you will have different behavior because a call to getSession does not implicitly call createData when readData returns null.
Just wanted to point out this. When taking into account other issues with the documentation of session storage, let's say using the file storage that is proposed for dev, it won't work nicely because of concurrency (issue had been reported already).
