Getting EOF error on emp set and emp scale #1085

I have created the demo Empire stack using the template provided. I have launched it both with the pre-defined AMI as well as the latest ECS AMI, with the same result.

I am able to deploy the acme-inc demo app, but when I try to do and emp set -a acme-inc FOO=bar or a emp scale -a acme-inc web=3, I always get back the following
error: Patch http://empire-eu-LoadBala-xxxxxxx.eu-west-1.elb.amazonaws.com/apps/acme-inc/config-vars: EOF
error: Patch http://empire-eu-LoadBala-xxxxxxx.eu-west-1.elb.amazonaws.com/apps/acme-inc/formation: EOF
