IEX Cloud https://iexcloud.io/ has python api for real time quotes at a very affordable price. And no need to run TWS or IB Gateway.

I am wondering how easy/feasible this will be. On the docs, it says Since QTPyLib relies on Interactive Brokers for pretty much everything....

Looking at the Broker class does not seem like it will be easily extendable.

Any direction regarding this will be helpful, I can help implement these if we agree on a design.
