This workshop's going to be amazing!! Here's what we need to do!

General:

  • make a sweet wrap up flyer so attendees will have resources to keep learning after the workshop
  • get a local junior developer to speak during an afternoon break at the workshop about their experience with rails (maybe even someone who attended the workshop last year!)

A few months out:

  • Find a venue
  • Find a sponsor for the workshop. This workshop covers RailsBridge 'vanilla'. Sponsoring the workshop will cost about $1600 since we are using a paid space. We may be able to fund this from the Rails Girls Atlanta general fund.

Leave a comment below if you're able to host, sponsor or organize! 😸

Once we have a a venue, sponsors, and organizers, we can:

  • Work together to set an RSVP limit that works for everyone (Probably around 50 total or so)
  • Post the workshop to Bridge Troll

One to two weeks out, we can:

  • Plan a teacher training
  • Revise slides from last year
  • Order installfest food
  • Order breakfast
  • Order lunch
  • Find a good place for the afterparty

After the workshop, we can:

  • Party! 🎉
  • Retro
    🌷

Do these dates interfere with Rubyconf? I'm emailing eVestment today. They sounded positive about hosting last night.

@britnia I took a guess. Can you confirm the correct dates?

@ravencovington / @britnia I think we were considering Nov 4th & 5th or Nov 11th and 12th since they're Fri/Sat pairs that don't overlap with RubyConf

The 11th and 12th do overlap. It's the 10th-12th
