Filter: translate $$-math to equation and align

Hello everyone,

I've spent the weekend hacking together a filter to make complex math easier in Quarto / Pandoc.

The pitch is: I want to use equation and align but with easy to read source.
I've done so by:

1. Automatically converting $$-delimited math to equation
2. Automatically converting $$-delimited math with multiline code (like & and \\) to align
3. Giving syntax for using other environments: $$ {ENV} ...

I'd be very happy to get feedback on it.

• In particular, I'm a bit worried that the $$ {ENV} ... syntax could break things. Do you foresee issues?
• Are there any features that you would like to see?
