This contribution aims to be used as an educational tool for learning about adiabatic inversion pulses. With the default set of parameters, the user will be able to visualize plots of the amplitude modulation function, frequency modulation function and the phase of the pulses. Additionally, we have incorporated Bloch simulations to be able to assess the inversion characteristics of the pulse over a range of B1+ and B0 inhomogeneity values. The pulse shapes included in this contribution are HS1, Lorentz, Gaussian, Hanning, HSn, and Sin40.
No example data is provided or needed. The user will set (or use default) pulse and tissue parameters and 'Run' the program. Based on their selected run options, it may display 1 or 2 plots (pulse and/or bloch sim). In the future, this development could be incorporated into other qMRI models to account for B1+ and B0 inhomogeneities.
Actual Behavior
The user will be able to adjust the Tissue type (WM and GM), main magnetic field strength (3T, 1.5T, 7T) and the pulse shape that they wish to view. After these parameters are set, default tissue parameters and pulse parameters are automatically filled in. Each of these default parameters will be able to be adjusted by the user and the plots will be able to be re-run with the adjusted parameters. The user can select to plot just the amplitude, frequency, and phase modulation functions for the selected pulse, or the BlochSim results for a 1 pool or 2 pool model. All plotting models could also be selected.
