PyLadies Kit Contributing Guide

We accept guest additions and contributions to the PyLadies kit.

Where to contribute

  • Documentation within pyladies-kit/docs
  • Helpful scripts for leaders/organizers to use
  • Images & logos that are either local or global
  • Copies/prints/images used for swag printing
  • Workshop & event resources for collaboration and reuse

Submission Guide

  • Fork the https://github.com/pyladies/pyladies-kit repo to your own GitHub account
  • Clone your forked repo via git clone $GITHUB_URL
  • Run pip install -r requirements.txt to setup your development environment. It's suggested you do this in a virtual environment.
  • Add desired changes locally.
  • Commit your changes; be sure to squash your commits if you have more than one via git rebase -i.
  • Push your changes to your own fork up on GitHub via git push -u origin master.
  • Log onto GitHub and navigate to the PyLadies Kit repo at https://github.com/pyladies/pyladies-kit.
  • Click on "pull requests" on the right side. You should see the ability to submit a pull request with your changes. Follow the instructions, and submit.
