This template should be used (edited) the month prior and during the meeting. This will ensure we can address all topics added throughout the month; as well as provide minutes and follow up after the meeting is held.

PyLadies Global Meeting

Agenda

Please add items as needed. If you add a topic please make sure to attend the meeting.

  • decide on outstanding votes !!
    - pyladies auction entry fee
    - was funded by PSF, but now they would like us to fund it - $18,000 . if we charged $5 it wouldn't be enough.
    - what should we increase the fee to ? If we raise it too high some people wouldn't be able to attend, but if it's too low it would cost us

  • we didn't make our decision public about decision to skip election last year

  • blockers, we might be able to get sponsors to help with costs

  • how do we feel about a two tier cost ??

  • @MmeMarieLouise YES

  • @JUpani YES

  • @julianafalves YES

  • @Sonacrystal YES

  • @BethanyG YES

  • @econchick YES

  • pycon, how should contribute ?????

- chapter budgeting system

  • should we give out money before we have a better fundraising model ? How can we generate money outside of pyladies auction at pycon

  • we could have a temp budget to give out while we're figuring out our fundraising stream

  • could we have chapters request funds, instead of giving money (with a limit)?

  • @MmeMarieLouise YES

  • @julianafalves YES

  • @econchick YES

  • @Sonacrystal YES

  • @JUpani YES

  • @BethanyG YES

  • How do we share funds to pyladies chapters

    • by event type?

    • by expense type?

    • by location and chapter ?

    • there may be circumstances that we cant predict, there are too many nuances. we could have a rough number like $40k i.e they divide it up ?

    • should it be a guideline to manage expectations of an ask ? be clear to everyone that we have a process.

    • Let's inform all chapters that they can request for grants (we can put it on the website)

    • @Sonacrystal YES

    • @BethanyG YES

    • @MmeMarieLouise YES

    • @econchick YES

    • @JUpani YES

    • @julianafalves YES

let's not give out a budget per chapter (put the budgeting system on hold) until we have a better fundraising set up,( we can learn about the chapter based on their requests)

don't give limit to the requests?
