PyGame is a little tricky to get provisioned depending on the platform. I had trouble with macOS with earlier versions of PyGame and it's not clear to me that it's still being actively developed. I just recently tried out kivy and I was very impressed. The documentation appears to be thorough with respect to installation: there were instructions for Linux, Windows and macOS. I am planning on going back to previous projects and porting to kivy.

Could be like build a game on Kivy.

Using PyGames or no Pygames can be open ended. (opinion)

Kivy would be interesting to explore.
