The idea is to backup the whole OpenShift deployment and be able to restore it.

We need it for when system changes are done and OpenShift needs to be reinstalled (but the "things" running inside of the cluster should stay the same)

ODF through OADP provides an example backup tool that has a community, but OADP is not yet supported.

Kasten K10, IBM Spectrum Protect Plus and TrilioVault are known to work well with ODF.

@rmkraus , couple of questions for your on this issue.

  1. Is your immediate need in Faros for an (a) functioning, community-supported solution, or for (b) an officially Red Hat-supported solution?
  2. Is ACM being used for centralized management of many Faros boxes?

@bcompton

  1. This would need to an actual supported solution. Not necessarily Red Hat supported, but third party supported would be just as acceptable.
  2. Not yet, but the conversations have been started with the ACM team to define requirements.
