Depending on the OS, IPv6 can leak the HW adress of the given device and makes it public to the internet.
There exists a privacy extension (RFC 4941) feature out there, which randomizes the HW adress over time.

I recommend making a table, where common operating systems & router systems are listed.
With privacy extenstions enabled or disabled by default. I already found one at here:

However, it is a bit old.
