This issue is to continue the conversion that was brought up in #367 and should be looked at after that PR is finished.

Not asking you to do it here, but it would also be good to get rid of hSpriteIndexOrTextID.
hSpriteIndex already exists, so we only need to create hTextIndex and then replace each instance of hSpriteIndexOrTextID accordingly.
