Why is create-stack API deprecated?

As of v2.19.1 stackCreate is marked as deprecated API documentation.
It disappears from the API docs in v2.19.0 before reappearing as deprecated, but I can't find mention of it in either the 2.19.0 or 2.19.1 release notes.
Why has it been deprecated and what should be used instead?

The POST /stacks endpoint was inadvertently removed in 2.19.0 and we readded it as deprecated in 2.19.1 to give users time to transition over to the newly added endpoints (see below and the New endpoints expander of the Rest API Changes section in the 2.19.0 release notes).

In the 2.19.0 release notes we mention it being broken:

Select API endpoints are broken and will be restored in the next release:- see REST API changes for specific details

and their restoration in the 2.19.1 release notes:

Fixed API endpoints that were broken in the 2.19.0 release, ensuring that they retain their previous functionality. portainer/portainer#10337

The intent is to replace the singular POST /stacks endpoint with separate endpoints depending on the environment type and creation method:

• POST /stacks/create/kubernetes/repository
• POST /stacks/create/kubernetes/string
• POST /stacks/create/kubernetes/url
• POST /stacks/create/standalone/file
• POST /stacks/create/standalone/repository
• POST /stacks/create/standalone/string
• POST /stacks/create/swarm/file
• POST /stacks/create/swarm/repository
• POST /stacks/create/swarm/string
