It's a bug in OpenRazer. The original contributor for this device didn't add support for custom effects ("matrix") unfortunately.

Fortunately, over on OpenRazer's repository, there is a slow work in progress to add the missing effects:

It would be worth watching that pull request for updates, or let them know that you're affected / willing to test.
