Unable to install Jekyll gem #292

upon trying to install Jekyll gem via

sudo gem install jekyll

I received this error:

ERROR: Could not find a valid gem 'jekyll' (>= 0), here is why:
Unable to download data from https://rubygems.org/ - SSL_connect returned=1 errno=0 state=SSLv3 read server certificate B: certificate verify failed (https://api.rubygems.org/latest_specs.4.8.gz)

try this if you haven't yet

$ gem sources --remove https://rubygems.org/
$ gem sources -a http://rubygems.org/
$ gem install jekyll

from issue #1409 w/ jekyll
