I've been trying to get Pinax to work on a clean Ubuntu 18.04 install and keep hitting problems. I'm finally on one I can't seem to fix which is :-

"Error reading /home/ubuntu/nlpa/webpack-stats.json. Are you sure webpack has generated the file and the path is correct?"

This is after trying to install Pinax CLI using pip install which ended up with Import Six errors

I then used --dev to get the latest versions and ended up with the error above.

I'm wondering whether there's something I'm essentially getting wrong or whether I'm approaching things the wrong way. I'd like to use some aspects of Pinax, particularly accounts & stripe.

Should I be using Pinax at the moment and what is the recommended way of installing and getting started? Would I be better trying to extract apps etc? I'm pretty familiar with Python from a while back but not so much in the last five years

@timparkin Hi Tim, you are not getting anything wrong. The essential parts of Pinax (pinax-starter-projects, pinax-apps, and pinax-cli) do not work correctly together. We finished a release last July to update many of the pinax-apps to be in line with the officially supported versions of Python and Django. Unfortunately, Pinax went unmaintained since then, due to circumstances outside of my control. But, I'm going to be doing some maintaining again... when the work week starts, I'm going to ask for access to pinax-starter-apps and pinax-cli to fix the outstanding bugs so that it all works together again. These were next on my list to fix after the release was done last July. Sorry for the confusion.
