How and when is edtiables data deleted from the document_editables, search_backend_data tables? Pimcore 11

Pimcore version: 11.1.4

As the title says, how is the editables data deleted from database and is it supposed to be deleted?

On a project that was recently updated to version 11, there is a global search feature that uses the document_editables table directly by querying the table and checking if the searched term exist in any of the wysiwyg editables, but it seems this no longer works as when an entire brick is deleted from a document, the content still remains in the table and that document is still being returned in the results even though the brick with the searched content was removed.

The document also appears in quicksearch after deleting the content.

The editables with the content still exists in database, and also the page is returned in quicksearch - even after running the pimcore:search-backend-reindex command
