  • add option to Download median and sdm
  • Change myrs for MYA, all caps
  • Add densitree plot before all trees display.
    • add the corresponding function to datelife package (plot_densitree()?)
    • same for plotting individual chronograms and summary trees (plot_chronogram?)
  • Make all axisGeo axis, and add “Time (MYA)” axis label
  • Add to download relevant citations option the citations for open tree and datelife: might need a rotl call. Look at datelife web citations folder.
  • Display all chronograms from the same starting point so its easier to compare. Can do:
[x] call plot FALSE, get the coordinates then plot everything from the same starting point OR
    • add a fake edge root that adds up to a maximum age, then plot with root edge color "white"
  • Add title as html and not inside plot R. Can be tricky, try it and ask for help.
  • Add loading icon. Spinner.
  • Make the messages on tick boxes wider. The messages are ok, leave them as they are. Change ages for maximum age in the first one, though.
  • From within datelife higher taxon search: when input is a single name with no spaces and no underscores, activate higher taxon search automatically. Probably not worthy for now. It is easier just to set higher-taxon search to TRUE as default.
  • Add to higher-taxon search tick box explanation that several names can be searched at a time, comma separated.
  • Check the median output for “felidae, canidae” search. Make a unit test, felidae, canidae age cannot be more than 50 yrs aprox.
  • Enhancement: On table of ages and sources: Make a hotlink for the doi of the paper
  • for each set of results add a little explanation on number of available subset chronograms:
    • found on database (number of rows in table of ages): "There are X trees with the requested species in database"
    • used for median and sdm summary
      • "X trees were used in median summary tree. Individual tree plots are shown in "all source trees" tab"
      • "X trees of total X trees were used to construct sdm summary"
    • displayed in overlay plot (number of chronograms with more than 2 tips): "There are X trees with more than 2 tips"
    • displayed as individual plots: "There are X trees with the requested species in database"
  • after each explanation, in a new line, add option to download individual results
  • leave individual downloadables in "Download all" tab
    • in the same tab, as the first option, add a link to Download everything at once.
  • add alt text to all figures https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_accessibility
  • densitree plot with thicker lines?
  • add a disclaimer of datelife and datelifeweb version in use on query webpage.

Some extras:

  • Next to axisGeo, or better as an input option, specify the Geologic TimeScale used
    • add plotting functions to datelife package?
  • Enhancement: allow ordering results table by different columns
  • Display results in: tabs/links/dynamic mouseover/buttons
  • Downloading references in bib format. See citations server
