I definitely want to do this, but it requires re-architecting the recording feature (which I want to do anyway as it will fix a lot of issues). The current method was just the quickest way I could do it by using ffmpeg, and I cannot move the recording area dynamically there.

Another related feature would be to automatically adjust the recording area to match a window. For example select a window per click and Peek picks it ;-)
Some screencast programs who use ffmepg have this feature, like vokoscreen.

For me this isn't as much of an issue as the recording abruptly stopping.

I wouldn't mind not having an option to move the window (although it'd be preferred), but the fact that a small slip-up(moving the tab instead of pressing stop) can ruin all the work I put into recording does bother me greatly.

How about a different approach - is there a way to disable window moving while the recording is going on?

As in the only thing you could interact with would be the stop button.

Would very much like to see this.

Could you simply make it possible to save what was recorded so far when the window is moved? Just make it the same as if the stop recording button is pressed? As it is, the ability to lose everything by accident makes this app unusable to me.
