Sort directories by date?

Is it normal behavior, that the subfolders inside a pictures path aren't ordered by date -- only the pictures inside the main folder?

I have subfolders that only contain pictures from 2003 (file date and EXIF data), still, the folder/directory appears as the second subdirectory in the overview?

Also, if I change dates in the source files, the scanner ignores them BTW. It would be very nice to have this, since the only way seems to be a complete re-import. The same is probably true for other meta-data?

I really like this project, but it seems more or less abandoned or is not improved anymore? I'm just asking, not complaining.
