Options for narrative documentation

We would like to begin writing narrrative documentation, and are exploring tools to use for that. Would like something in the JS world (not Sphinx, to avoid a python dependency). Here are initial ideas:

• https://survivejs.com/maintenance/documentation/site/
• https://www.gitbook.com/ - nice, but looks like they are moving to a commercial model though

Any other ideas?
