hgt data missing ?

Hello,

Thanks very much for writing these modules, they're exactly what I need right now!

It looks like there aren't many datasets with region -> elevation or even any geojson with that information either!

So I've successfully run this locally and posted it a geojson but I got this strange error:
Error: ENOENT: no such file or directory, open 'data/N44W001.hgt'
Does this mean that you only have data for some parts of the world ?

I don't mind if it's the case, as long as I can get a geojson with very granular regions and their elevation, I'm happy! I just need to know which part of the world to look at.

Hi and thanks for the kind words!

This looks a lot like this issue on node-hgt, which elevation-service uses underneath: perliedman/node-hgt#16

So I suspect that is the real problem! Having said that, as you can see I haven't found much time to get to the bottom of that issue. Any help would be appreciated!

Ah, I see, it makes sense!
I'll have a look and see if I can find some time to work on this.

In the meantime do you know any dataset that would contain the name of small regions with their elevation?

@alvinsight I get this error if I do not manually create the tiles directory.

npm run start
