It would be great if in some point in the future Rocksmith-like functionality could be added, where players can attach their real instruments and actually play them to play the game.
Amp modeling could probably be done with guitarix and an lv2 interface.

I was thinking this exactly after experience with other apps that do exactly this. It would be a godsend. Though if we're talking guitar-level inputs some considerable gain needs to be applied to that input. Acoustic guitar into a mic would also be a viable option were this to be implemented.
