Currently, only one part can be in one storage location at one time. In the past, we've duplicated parts across the system to allow it to stay in different storage locations.

The method needs to be changed to allow different storage locations with different stock levels.

Required Changes:

  • There needs to be a grid instead of a drop-down in the part editor
  • The stock history needs an additional "storage location" field
  • The add/remove stock needs to have a storage location selector if more than one storage location exists

+1 on this.

This would be really great, so far that seems like the only really core feature I would like besides maybe making a tweak to the project export so that I can list component designators. We are syncing up engineering groups at different facilities that share parts.

+1 - This feature request is pretty old but still an important one.

I am using latest partkeepr version from git, this feature is still not implemented. Will it be implemented?

Yes, absolutely.

Unfortunately, PartKeepr is not a full time job yet. As such, priority is given for bug fixes and feature requests from people or organizations which sponsor features. You can help to make PartKeepr a full time job so that features can be implemented faster by supporting PartKeepr on Patreon

That would be a really great feature, i currently have parts that are stored in 2-3 locations, i have setup the "main" storage location in PartKeepr, but i cannot track how many are in the second or third location so i have to remember when we are running low in the first location to check in the others ones to refill.

That would also be really helpful as we are planning to move a part of our inventory to another building in another city to split workload and it would be easier to manage everything from one single PartKeepr install instead of either duplicating the parts to enter the second building or running a separate install of PartKeepr and trying to keep the main data synced across the the installs (ex parts number, description, parameters, etc.)

Maybe a side feature could be to be able to transfer parts quantity across the different storage location in the same item
