Search ignores symbols (_, +, etc)

I realized earlier today while searching for docs around __defaults__ that it ends up completely dropping the underscores, and defaults ends up being very common in our documentation. Similary, searching with other syntax tokens (+, @, etc.) also end up being ignored. Not sure if fixable, but I think it used to work on the old site.
