rewrite react components

There is one more complex component that uses react. It is written in coffeescript and could be written in a cleaner way (was my first react project...).

Would be nice to convert them to ES or TS and add a "modern" approach to compile them (depends on whether that is useful for other parts of the project as well)

That would make react more attractive to use in other parts as well
