Code commented after adding word comment

I'm trying to add this pagination for comments, but as soon as i add the word comment inside {% %} the next lines of the code are gray as if they where commented, and not highlighted anymore (picture below)

I'm unable to recreate this.
Seems like conflicting grammar, Do you have another Liquid extension installed? Below is that structure replicated across multiple themes, all seem to highlight correctly.
