Contributing to oresat-firmware

General Information

Background

OreSat is an oregon based nanosatellite project that is managed by the Portland State Aerospace Society (PSAS). We have one satellite currently in space, called OreSat0, learn more about it here.

Getting started with OreSat Firmware development

Set up your development environment

Follow this to get your development environment setup.

Join a meeting

Join one of our meetings. Meetings can be found in Our Calendar. Look for "OreSat Firmware".

Development platforms

Here are links to some of our supported development boards.

Be sure to test with app_blinky!

Get access to necessary platforms

In order to successfully contribute to firmware development for OreSat

  • You'll need to be a member of our organization on github
  • You will need access to our Google Drive for important internal documentation such as meeting notes
  • You will need access to our collaborative work environment on Slack

Request access to these platforms at a meeting.

Doing work

After you've joined some meetings, finished setting up your toolchain, played around a bit on a development board, and got access to the necessary platforms, then its time to tackle some of our projects

Once you've graduated from app_blinky, then apply to access to FlatSat for firmware development
