How to reproduce the issue?

  1. Make some changes in iD
  2. Go to save, get this error:
    image
  3. iD does NOT say that changes are too large to back up, or give any indication changes are not backed up
  4. Refresh the page to try to fix this error
  5. Data is gone

Screenshot(s) or anything else?

Normally when I get some sort of error with loading data, or something not working quite right, as long as it does not say the changes are too large to back up I can refresh and iD will prompt me to load my previous changes. However in this case no indication was given to me that these changes were not backed up, yet I was not prompted to restore my changes after reloading. Had I known that this would have happened, I would have downloaded the .osm file of the changes first.
