Deleting all notes but one in a group leaves a group of 1 single note.
If this group is subdivided again, subsequent groupings etc. will not behave as expected.

Ex. Group of N => remove N-1 notes => subdivise the remaining single note in M => re-group M-1 notes => group disappear :-)
