While OpenBoxes can be scaled horizontally there are some aspects that are less than ideal. For example, load balancing requires sticky sessions rather than session replication so we'd like to able to support database session replication. Also, there are no instructions for how to set up SSL for the database connection pool. The Quartz job scheduler is currently configured using an in-memory data store so we'll need to make some code and configuration changes or move to a more distributed job scheduler like Terracotta.
