What will happen with offenerhaushalt.de now that Rufus announced OpenSpending API shutting down and migration to Datopian (Github ticket)?

Do you have any roadmap?

There's no roadmap. The project is in hibernation. We are looking for volunteers to possibly freeze (render to static) any visualisation so that the OS API is no longer a dependency. However, as of now there's no one leading this project.

I have backed up all existing budget data (datapackage.json and CSVs) to the data branch. I also removed all the empty budget md files.

From this I could imagine that a static version of offenerhaushalt.de can be built for most budgets. datapackage.json contains all meta data for slicing and dicing and most (gzipped) CSVs are small enough to directly load in the client.

Another idea: maybe these CSVs can be converted to Apache Arrow files with dictionary encoding to make them more compact and ready to be consumed without CSV parsing.

Or maybe the crazy SQLite via static files might be an approach (not sure if that's good for aggregation-heavy queries).
