Is the project dead?

It depends on what you mean by "this project". DNSChain is not just a piece of software, it is first and foremost an idea—a technical approach to solving a 20 year old problem.

And while I might not be writing code for it, the idea continues to move forward, now with DPKI (Decentralized Public Key Infrastructure—a protocol to replace X.509) being our focus as part of the work that's been taking place at the past 3 Rebooting Web of Trust (RWoT) events (organized by Christopher Allen, co-author of SSL/TLS).

Here are some links you might find useful:

And as far as this specific project goes, while I'm not writing code for it at the moment, I'm happy to review PRs.

Right now the biggest thing DNSChain needs is for someone to take over and improve the native-dns project, which DNSChain heavily relies on. See #174.

thanks for your reply and sorry for replying late. I'm currently using it, so I'm eager to see it grow.
I'll check your links for a read, it seems worth it.
Sadly I can't help with code of that kind; I hope more people will join you.. but I think this project needs more advertisement first!
