You can take a trace of the cd process by running set -xv; cd <directory> and you should hopefully see at which point zsh stops or hangs running a command. If there is no specific point where it hangs, you should at least see what runs when the directory change happens. You can then turn off tracing with |

As the title says cd'ing into directories usually takes around 5-10 seconds and I do not know why. I saw a post where they suggested to put
zmodload zsh/zprof
at the begin of the config andzprof
at the end to see what is causing the problem.I did try to disable all plugins and custom functions and no luck
I do not quite understand the results but maybe someone here can suggest me a fix:
