A very common use case is that I copy a path to a file from within Qt-Creator then I head down a terminal window and type cd + paste to have a look at git history and then I always have to remove the file name which is not a very big issue but this works in total commander on windows and would improve this fantastic command line interface even further. Thanks for a perfect tool in this command line world of Linux.
