Error [ERR_REQUIRE_ESM]: require() of ES Module , but I am using import statement

Hi! Maybe someone can see what I don't:

Node v16.20.2
Jest: "^29.7.0",
node-fetch: "^3.3.2"

import NodeEnvironment from 'jest-environment-node';
import fetch, {Headers, Request, Response} from "node-fetch";

export default class FixGlobalsEnvironment extends NodeEnvironment {
    constructor(...args) {
        super(...args);

        this.global.fetch = fetch;
        this.global.Headers = Headers;
        this.global.Request = Request;
        this.global.Response = Response;
    }
}

But when I try to run the test:

Error [ERR_REQUIRE_ESM]: require() of ES Module /home/joy/.../node_modules/node-fetch/src/index.js from /home/joy/.../tests/config/FixGlobalsEnvironment.js not supported.
    Instead change the require of index.js in /home/joy/.../tests/config/FixGlobalsEnvironment.js to a dynamic import() which is available in all CommonJS modules.

20 seconds after posting this, I got it to work.

Originally I had FixGlobalsEnvironment because Jest kept on not making "fetch/Response/Request" available when running the tests. I removed that set up since I am trying to use node-fetch 3, and now everything works as expected.

I still don't know what fixed it but the question is now irrelevant I suppose.

I stand corrected, it continues to fail and now I know why:

• It worked because I was running the test via my IDE (IntelliJ).
• When executing the test via CLI (yarn test) I get the error reported
