GEDI tips

Google #EarthEngine tip 41: Test the #GEDI test. Due to so many requests, I can't ignore. But please remember, the dataset is not final... Anyway here is the very introduction of GEDI on EE (or my feedback to the amazing Google Earth Engine team, with many thanks!) pic.twitter.com/PKZRz2QGdV

Google #EarthEngine tip 42 (continued from 41): Test the #GEDI test. For those who can't wait for the official release, this is GEDI intro part 2. #PowerBeams! The last #EarthEngine tip for the year 2021! Thank you everyone, wish you a happy New Year! pic.twitter.com/ZtcFgxY3OZ

#GEDI tips: RH stands for 'relative height,' shown in m or cm, calculated at the percentage of cumulative waveform energy. So, RH100 means elev_highestreturn - elev_lowestmode

<script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

#GEDI tips: "The lowest selected mode has triggered on noise, thus elev_lowestmode will be below the actual ground surface" (Level 02 User Guide), indicating that RH100 would overestimate the height https://t.co/cUGSpUfhWv

#GEDI tips: GEDI produces 8 tracks of data. Half of them are by full power lasers. Use the data from these power beams if your area has dense forests. The power beam sensitivities are 2-3% higher than the coverage beam

Power beams = '0101', '0110', '1000', '1011'

GEDI visualisation updated using Unfolded Studio @unfoldedinc https://t.co/UkOxYWUQie Now you don't even have to code to create this map, and satellite imagery basemap is available https://t.co/Ympn8e92qJ Be patient while loading... https://t.co/P7GN8TPxVp pic.twitter.com/8R2mQqq0oa
