Retrieving all conversation messages

What is the proper way to read all the messages in a particular conversation?

There is v1.conversations.list(), which returns the conversation objects that authenticated user is involved, however those objects just include the last message.

Then, we have the timelines.direct.list(), but there is no way to group or filter by conversation id.

I see, there is not any specific api call in mastodon api for this as well.

My question, is what is the best way to read all the conversation messages?

I got, I should use contexts in combination with conversation's last statuses.
