I'm new to FHIR (although I have quite a bit of experience with HL7 V2 and other healthcare initiatives/protocols: DICOM, IHE, web services, etc.).
I need to query a Terminology Server (using snowstorm for now) to get information for a given SNOMED CT concept ID. The query would look something like this:
I stumbled upon your FHIR libraries (fhir.resources.*) and am looking for some guidance/sample code to see how I can interact with a Terminology Server.
I could use just the simple json interface like so:
but I was looking to see if I could use proper FHIR libraries just to get more used to them for future projects. If you think using json, as described above, is the way to go, then let me know.

Hi there,
I'm new to FHIR (although I have quite a bit of experience with HL7 V2 and other healthcare initiatives/protocols: DICOM, IHE, web services, etc.).
I need to query a Terminology Server (using snowstorm for now) to get information for a given SNOMED CT concept ID. The query would look something like this:
https://browser.ihtsdotools.org/snowstorm/snomed-ct/browser/MAIN/2019-07-31/concepts/195967001
I stumbled upon your FHIR libraries (fhir.resources.*) and am looking for some guidance/sample code to see how I can interact with a Terminology Server.
I could use just the simple json interface like so:
curl --silent "https://browser.ihtsdotools.org/snowstorm/snomed-ct/browser/MAIN/2019-07-31/concepts/195967001" | python -c "import json,sys;obj=json.load(sys.stdin);print obj['pt']['term'];"
but I was looking to see if I could use proper FHIR libraries just to get more used to them for future projects. If you think using json, as described above, is the way to go, then let me know.
Thanks,
-Anibal
