Electricity waste caused by integration #57
-
Hi, This means that a pair of speakers consumes 21W more when idle. Sounds like not much, but this piles up. In a year that's a waste of ~180kWh. Did anyone have similar problem? Any solutions? Regards |

The integration has to periodically poll the speaker to determine it's correct status. That's by design of Home Assistant and of course the API of the Linkplay moodule. If the module would be smarter, for example able to push states by itself to MQTT while idle, it would of course be better. The amps in the speaker are likely poorly designed, an amplifier should only draw a significant amount of power only when it's actually playing sound (Class D). |

Search for audio amplifier classes to learn more about this.
