When viewing the metrics for Message Storage and Retrieval, there is a huge discrepancy between the number of messages retrieved vs number of messages stored. (often a factor of 10x)

While messages can be accumulated into storage and then fetched in bulk, and the average connection time is around 30 minutes per client, the difference between these two values seems unusually large and may indicate either that messages are not being removed properly, or we are fetching too many messages, or some other issue.
