Deleted Replies

When a user removes the permission 'View hidden and deleted posts' from Teachers they can still see the replies within a post marked as deleted - is there an additional setting required to hide these deleted replies?

I think if they have editanypost capability this would show the replies (because those reply posts are not deleted).

I'm not sure there is an easy solution for this (without another capability) as it depends on how you might want to use the forum (so should a teacher still see those posts - maybe if they need to assess contribution, but not if they are purely moderating).
