The limit parameter of listing/traits is unintuitive

The limit parameter of the listing traits api service is used both for numerical and categorical traits so the actual amount of traits returned is double that of limit. While this is documented in the api doc it would be more intuitive to have this as a global limit. Additionally, it might make sense to add a trait_format parameter to search specifically for traits of a given format.
