I found the recommendation to install the dovecot plugin for enabling spamassassin learning from the IMAP junk folder: #32 (comment)

Today this should be done with https://wiki2.dovecot.org/HowTo/AntispamWithSieve

This is still to be done manually, or have I overseen a config?

@y0va Yes, it is not activated by default.
